It's hard not to immediately love Coastline's opening title track: Whether it's Geoffroy's smoky vocal, its plodding Balearic bassline or its easy seaside disposition, the song is aperfect remedy for rainy days and bittersweet emotions. The Montreal singer keeps up the vibe through this debut LP of lush and lovely electro-pop. While some tunes, like"Trouble Child" nod to darker '80s synth-pop à la Depeche Mode, moody soundscapes like "Raised by Wolves" and "Got Me All Tired" are richly produced showcases for hispained but gorgeous croon.
