BWK - Black White & Kah - are a newly formed super group out of Nairobi, Kenya, that combine the talents of these three solo performers. Their music combines the rapping legacies of MC Kah and Black MC with the melodic folk/world aesthetic of White, creating a fusion sound with global scope. Black MC has been rapping for ten years, having performed in the U.S., the Netherlands, Tanzania and Kenya and is also the author of a book of poetry. MC Kah is extremely well known in East Africa as one of the lead singers of Ukoo Flani Maumau. His career has taken him to perform in Canada, the Netherlands, France, Italy and at Busara Festival in Zanzibar. His 2007 LP Subira is a gorgeous and righteous blend of Kaya Hiphop. Kah and Black are also both human rights activists. White (aka Corder) is the riff master of this trio and brings his 15 year career as a singer and songwriter with him in melding with the energy of the group. He has recorded in the U.S. with Shawn Fanning (Napster) and in Paris with Philippe Dalecky (Jim Morrison). His sweet melodic voice blends in a never-heard-before fusion with the rapping of Kah and Black and the result is completely new kind of song that melds black and white, African and American, old and new, sweet and strong, powerful and uplifting, words and music. Black White and Kah's recent recording "I Could Be" is set to be the most unique smash hit in the 2010 Kenya scene. Mixing a chorus that stays in your head with the transformative rapping of Black and Kah, and a riff inspired by Ayub Ogada, the song emanates a global energy in a global world.
