Recorded in the same studio space as Norwegian elder-statesmen Lindstrøm, Todd Terje, and Prins Thomas, André Brattens debut full-length is set to be released on May 6 via Prins Thomas Full Pupp label, as announced on XLR8R last week. Before its release, Bratten has made that LP available to stream in full. Bearing the, um, interesting title Be a Man You Ant, the album establishes Bratten as a serious contender to lead the next generation of Oslos space-disco producers. Created under extremely limited constraints-the producer is said to have used only one modular synthesizer and a drum machine to make the record-Be a Man You Ant nevertheless feels sprawling and lush, making it easy to lose oneself in its minimal, motorik grooves. - Tim Gentles
