Chiqito (real name Acsai Attila) from Budapest is the latest artist to join the I'm A House Gangster ranks, with his four track 'History Of House' release. At just 26 years of age, it's a bold statement from the Hungarian producer, but one which he more than justifies across the four tracks with strong classic Chicago influences shin in through. History Of House and Ravers Hipsters track are characterised by jacking beats at faster tempos and twisted vocal samples, while Build It Up and Money go deeper and darker, but retain the funk and old school sounds. Chiqito says the EP was influenced by the old school sound, with a focus on the House Gangster ethos of not pandering to current trends.
