Ground/Lift was created in order to work against the polarization of different musical playing- and thinking-schools: the confl ict rock vs. electronics increases and one seems to exclude the other one. The stigma of the conservative adheres to the rock music, which is no more in the position to occur in contemporary discourses, no matter how progressive it may present itself . We (ground/lift) consider however neither the rock music as done, nor are we afraid of the ideas and aesthetics of newer electronic styles ground/lift developed from the tendency to connect the qualities of different approaches at music and reach a synthesis in such a way: transformation and refl exive operating with electronic media meet the intimicy of the live playing (considering the fact that it concerns thereby 2 guitars, naturally constantly moving in the history of rock ...). ... pieces by ground/lift use the song-form once in a clearer, once in a more hidden way. First of all because we consider the song as the highest (because most transparent) of all possible music forms, on the other hand because we aim at clarity and transparency of our ideas. However, the musical form song is regarded exactly in the same way as musical material, like sound or composing elements, which means also this form has to put up with abstractions and alienations.
