IRON HORSE Native Rock recording artists Robby Romero and Robert Mirabal have come together with a new Alter-Native single "Iron Horse" to drop August 12, 2014, during the Summer Of The Red Willow on iTunes, Amazon and other leading online music stores worldwide. A Summer Of The Red Willow concert is scheduled for September 20 in Taos New Mexico with special guests and dignitaries to be announced. “Robby brought me out of the corn felids of the pueblo to join in igniting a collective fire and creating a poetic dialogue”, Mirabal said. I was a bit reluctant at first, however as fate may have it… the inevitable Kit Carson name-change provided the artistic momentum for a coming together of our music." "Iron Horse" written by Romero and Mirabal, commemorates the Summer of the Red Willow June 10, 2014, historic name-change of Kit Carson Park to Red Willow Park by the Town Of Taos. “When I was a kid living at the Mable Dodge Tony Lujan house in Taos with Dennis Hopper, a host of some of the most artistic minds of the time would come to visit. I remember spirited conversations about Kit Carson between those visiting and us Indios, Hispano's and hippies living in this mystical land of the Red Willow. Then like now the discussion was impassioned and many had a strong desire for a name-change of the public gathering places named after Kit Carson in the Southwest,” Romero said. “When the opportunity presented itself, I suggested that the Town Of Taos change the name of Kit Carson Park to Red Willow Park to honor the people of the Red Willow. I made the suggestion to kindle a conversation about one-sided perspectives that are more often then not ‘his-story - not history’… and I’m certain the curtain has fallen on the misconceptions, stereotypes and derogatory names exploited in history books and in sports and POP cultural about Native Peoples.” Iron Horse is the first single from the upcoming self-titled EP on Eagle Thunder Records. The EP is scheduled to drop November 4, 2014 during Native American Heritage Month. Romero & Mirabal will celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the First Annual Indigenous Music Festival to be held in Taos, New Mexico November 15, 2014. There’s an Iron Horse coming down the track and it’s bringing the people back… Rolling Thunder fills the sky wipe your tears let them dry… the longest walk will reunite we’re coming together into the light… emancipation one nation in celebration all our relation - Iron Horse (Romero/Mirabal)
