Since releasing After Hours in May of 2013 (hosted by DJ EV) and even before, Cato was starting to make a name for himself in the performance side of the underground scene in the Midwest opening for every act to come through, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Madison (WI), and Louisville, KY. These acts include, Sammy Adams, Mike Stud, MOD SUN, WAX, MGK, Kid Ink, TimeFlies, Jake Miller, Chris Webby, D-Why, and Huey Mack. These numerous performances that have shaped the music that Cato makes today. Wanting to stay true to his love for Rap music but also understanding the changing trend of the music genre, Cato wanted to be a full fledge MC and stage performer and have musical instrumentation that matched his energy. Go For Broke EP is a combination of the influences from After Hours and HiPOP and an evolution in the way Cato approaches each record and show. While staying true to himself, Cato wanted to showcase that his own music could make any crowd energetic rather than relying on Top 40 Radio Hits to get a crowd moving like so many do.
