"These songs were largely conceived during my stay in the hills of Laurel Canyon, and Hollywood, California. The content of the album, are the chronicles of a Love Story that unfolded in Los Angeles shortly before the recording sessions. Producer Rob Campanella (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) lent his talents to creating this album. As does first time co-producer and engineer Jon Alderson. HERE COMES THE TIME is a bit of an attempt to transcend the contemporary genres of music in it's stylings, and hopefully the recordings reach across musical aisles. Living in the home of the Hollywood studio proved crucial, in that through the community there rose up all the components necessary to make an album. Crafting the songs that I'd written about my travels to, and in Los Angeles seemed like only filling in the blanks and it all happened quite naturally. Andy Campanella and Nate Ryan jumped in on drums and bass respectively for a solid rhythm section, and when Nelson Bragg (The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson Band) came aboard on percussion a dream team for the recording sessions had been assembled. "Telegram" and "Doctor Napalm" were both written and recorded in Texas. "Telegram" is sung by musician and actress Stephanie Hunt (Nancy and Beth, Glee). "Doctor Napalm" features Alex Maas (The Black Angels) and is a song I co-wrote with Alex when we roomed together in South Austin. Even though recorded earlier than the Hollywood sessions, they seemed to move effortlessly well with the album, fitting in perfectly with the tracks I'd recorded in Los Angeles. The earliest and deepest musical influences I could sight would be Harry Nilsson's soundtrack for the movie Popeye and the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. I'll never tire of listening to the Beatles, and all of their musical projects post-Beatles. Naturally, having been raised in Texas by a country boy, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison were always on rotation in my childhood bedroom. Buddy Holly's Greatest Hits records were golden in my ears, and still are to this day. " – Chris Catalena
