The World According to Duke
These guys are the real deal. With songs as diverse as the wildlife at the San Diego Zoo, the alternative rock/pop group Orange Dog delivers their first 6-song EP release titled "The World According To Duke". The band and EP, named after two of the group members miniature Dachshund, features David Taylor on vocals/guitars/keyboards; Scott Gribble on bass & backing vocals and drummer Sam Taylor crank out energetic and catchy original songs that range from the crazy corporate rage of "Got Laid Off" to the haunting ode to Taylor's mother titled "Pink Tears". Friend and banjo whiz Bret Henning is featured on the alternative country-rocker tune "Ain't That Something", which is a track that also appears on the release from David's other musical project, The Henning Taylor Band. Unlike a lot of today's music that can be routinely pigeon-holed into a single musical genre, Orange Dog proudly defy easy categorization. "The World According To Duke" is a diverse collection of musical styles ranging from 80's and 90's power pop to 60's and 70's quasi-psychedelia. You won't want to miss checking out the creative songs that resonate from this South Park neighborhood San Diego band.
