A few years ago, on a cold night in Edmonton, Jane sat down at the piano to play and attempt to write her first few songs. Little did she know that this would turn into her first project as a singer and songwriter. Jane’s first CD “The View from Here” is born out of a desire to not only sing about God’s name, but to hear His voice and respond to it. Most of all, she invites others to make this response as well. Ever since she was small, Jane has felt a pull towards worship through music. Whether it was singing in church or sitting at the piano alone in an empty room, her heart for worship fuels her every note. In between the carefully crafted piano melodies and ambient vocals of “The View from Here”, lies an unassuming and fresh acoustic experience. Jane invites the listener into an intimate encounter on the ground where angels fear to tread. One track “You Heard my Cry” was chosen for a compilation album for Canadian worship leaders, “Sea to Sea: I See the Cross.” Pairing thoughtful lyrics with uncompromising musicianship are but only the beginning of this collection of captivating songs.
