He then sings with Yabby You’s Prophets, as well as for the producer Lee “Scratch” Perry under his first artist name Ricky Storm, with Bunny Rugs, future Third World’s singer, forming together the duet Ricky & Bunny. In 1972, he records his hit tune The Way It Is accompanied by the Inner Circle musicians, before releasing his first album in 1979. Genuine roots gem, vinyl-lovers have been craving for it until VP repressed it in 2006. He then recorded a second album in 1982, Africa Calling, in Switzerland at the occasion of his exclusive visit in Europe. At the same time, he is songwriter for Max Romeo. He especially has written Poor Man’s Life and Take a Hold. His tone reminding at times Prince Lincoln, at times Bob Marley, but which is nonetheless unique, and his one-of a-kind voice where emotions and sincerity mingle to form an exceptional universe will leave no one in different. As he likes to recall: “I am a man who sing from my heart”. I Kong meets the Tabernacle Posse will be released on April the 22nd in China an Asia an April 26th worldwide by Db Bros Records on all digital formats, a vinyl release date hasn’t been set as yet.
